Oshita started learning Iaido at the age of six from his father who was a grand master of Iaido and who founded an Iaido school called “Suireikan”. He started Judo at the age of 9and Karate at the age of 16. After graduating from the University of St.Thomas in Japan, he went to the USA to teach karate. He taught karate in the US Army National Guard, at the University of Alaska, in high school and at his dojo. By day he studied anthropology at the University of Alaska. He was a Kumite Champion in the State of Alaska in 1981. After spending four years teaching karate in the USA, he returned to Japan. He enrolled again at the University of St. Thomas in Japan …
